You're not gonna be getting the expertise bonus. Warriors regen energy too slowly to make an effective ranger. Just make a ranger.

What does a monk have to do with rangers or warriors?
Back on subject, it depends what you want to do with your ranger or warrior, and what role you want them to play in the battlefield. Would you rather be fighting in melee, or not fighting in melee? There are other specifications of these classes, but thats really all it boils down to.

It all depends on your taste and buid, im a w/r because I like being a warrior and wanted a compagnion(the pet). Now don't go into being a w/r just for the pet... it has some good skills and again every secondary has a different build for ex: w/r in pvp is made for IWAY. If you want to be a war in battle and sometimes become a ranger in another one then w/r is your primary and secondary class.

"I Will Avenge You!" - warrior shout
W/R: Apply Poison + Cyclone Axe is popular.

I thought that too... and yesterday I saw my wolf hit for 45-47 damages on a stone summit into the furnace while I was hitting for 35-40 ... a pity I don't play the pet instead of the human
